Here was a first-cut 3D drawing of a uniform plane wave. The red
arrows are electric field, the green arrows are magnetic field, and the
white arrow is direction of propagation. (Most of the students
didn't like this one.) |

- A very "busy" animation, but at least you can see the traveling
wave behavior of the fields in space.
