Developing a Generation Y Indoor/Outdoor Propagation Modeling |
Design Problem Overview:
ZENITH SOLUTIONS has been short listed by Springularizon to build a comprehensive next-generation propagation modeling software.
The current propagation model that cellular companies used currently are mostly outdated as the models pays more importance to outdoor Propagation. As we know, most of the calls now originate indoors, the old model is no longer adequate in ensuring good cellular coverage.
Hence a new and comprehensive model is needed for today’s context especially with the development of new environments and also new users habits. In addition, the model has to be able to calculate of both the indoor and outdoor model.
Motivation and Benefits:
This propagation model is essential in as it will be able to give cellular companies better predictions of signal coverage, hence enhancing the quality of received signals and on the long run, attracting more customers for Springularizon.
The quality of cellular coverage will greatly increased as dropped calls and uncovered regions will be minimized extensively. Imagine a day when dropped called and weak signals are unheard of. This is the motivation behind our work. “Providing You With The Best RF Solutions!”
This project focuses on solving the propagation pattern for an urban environment. This is done by producing a propagation model using Georgia Tech Campus as a trial. This model if proven accurate can then be used as a platform for developing an accurate urban environment propagation model. The accuracy is particularly important to the cellular industry as a good propagation model would be able to give better predictions of signal coverage, hence enhancing the quality of received signals and on the long run, attracting more customers. This model that we hope to develop on will include a indoor and outdoor propagation model as the current propagation model that is used pays more attention to outdoor propagation. Since there is a trend that suggests majority of the talk time is indoor nowadays, a good model that can give accurate signal prediction is even more so important.
