VISION/COMPRESSION
Since one of the main objectives of the Exobuzz mission is to take pictures of an exoplanet, obviously our spacecraft must include various types of space-hardened cameras. The current standard is the Kodak DCS 760. Additionally, as these images must be transmitted back to the Earth, a novel image compression scheme must be devised to reduce the necessary bandwidth and bitrate. In other words, it would be exceedingly unfeasible to transmit a 500MB HD video of an exoplanet over the distance implied in the mission.

Furthermore, ExoBuzz has devised a method for navigation/asteroid avoidance using computer vision.
