Earth Satellite -> Earth

Thanks to the generous support of Dr. Durgin and Dr. Steffes, both of Georgia Tech, the downlink hardware and support in beaming the Observatory data down to Earth and distributing it among scientists has been provided gratis. Thank you.

Standard Receiver Architecture

Although the systems and hardware for the final link have been provided for, the receiver algorithm that will be implemented is simply the reverse of the encoding process. Assuming an already dechipped and ordered number of individual "packets", each passes through a Turbo decoder, and then through a QAM decoder, then re-interleaved.
