Like the moon rover, the base station on the moon will have both gallium arsenide solar panels and lithium ion batteries. Additionally, the base station will have thrusters to maneuver in space to the landing location on the moon. The main purpose of the rocket fuel will be this manipulation and soft landing after being detached from the rocket.
