Astro-Location (Portable Array)

There are many advantages of using a phased array receiver system including:  angle of arrival estimation, steerable gain, physical diversity (extremely helpful with Rayleigh fading channels, see MIMO).  In this system we will be using the array to resolve where in the range ring the RFID Waypoint is.

Below is a diagram of how the receive antennas will be arranged.  These antennas along with the interrogator and lunar link antennas will be fitted to the astronaut's back pack.
