The location system will operate very much like the GPS system used on Earth.  As was mentioned in the communication link analysis, the system is implemented using a similar PN sequence and CDMA scheme.  Also, the following ranging equations were borrowed from the Earth-based system for the purpose of determining distance. To determine position, a receiver will detect 4 different satellites signals and extract each of their locations and time delay. Using this information, the receivers can then solve the system of equations to determine its position.
