Launch Plan
Rocket Selection
The Delta II 7920H series rockets have launched a variety of satellites and deep
space missions. They have a reliability of 98% and are "The Industry Workhorse."
Missions payload is estimated at 1100kg. For Earth escape trajectories, the three stage
7925H-9.5 series with nine graphite epoxy (GEM-46) strap-on solid-rocket motors is
capable of lifting 1508kg. This provides 400kg allowance for growth over the development of
the mission.

Payload Size
The internal dimensions allow for a maximum payload size of 2.9m by 8.5m. This is sufficient to allow
room for the heat shield, large high gain antenna, pressure vessel, and landing assembly.

Launch Site
The Delta II 7900-heavy series rockets are only able to be launched from Cape Canaveral, FL.
This uses the launch facilities at Space Launch Complex 17 (SLC-17).
